Director of Strategic Business Operations
Michael Ellis, Director of Strategic Business Operations: Mike leads strategic planning, capability development, and business operations for Helion. His team builds and maintains Helion’s multi-year strategic plan and develops new capabilities in alignment with Helion’s growth, scaling, and value creation goals. Mike also oversees Helion’s business operations function, which includes managing Helion’s development portfolio via the annual operating plan, business unit-level reporting and dashboarding, and financial operations.
Mike brings over 10 years of health care experience in various strategic and operational roles. Within the enterprise, he served as a strategy consultant with a large health care company on the initial Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation before being tasked with driving financial and operational performance of the company’s individual and small group plans. He then moved to Health Plan Operations, where he managed a team responsible for federal markets enrollment, billing, and payment reconciliation. He has been with Helion since 2020. He has a master’s degree in healthcare administration.
